Project Manager

Position Summary
In this position you would work as a liaison between project owner, architect, superintendent, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure a smooth and safe completion of the project that exceeds the client's expectations.

Key Responsibilities
Generates a project schedule along with the superintendent.
Primary estimator for the project including preliminary budgets.
Prepares contract for execution between Client and Principal of Wilcox Construction.
Writes subcontracts and material contracts and is responsible for receiving the same back signed and unmodified.
Ensures Company has proof of insurance and license from all subs used on file.
Assists the superintendent in verifying all subs and materials arrive as required to maintain schedule.
Responsible for all of the following project related tasks:
  • Administers and tracks submittals.
  • Administers and tracks RFI's, AFI's, etc.
  • Writes and tracks all change orders.
  • Administers monthly billings in a timely manner.
  • Runs cost comparisons between bid and actual costs.
  • Runs jobsite meetings and produces meeting minutes.
  • Updates schedule with superintendent as required.
  • Assembles project closeout book, C of O, warranties, etc.
  • Upon completion, compiles a square foot analysis of project type and costs associated with the same.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Represents Wilcox Construction in the most positive and professional manner with respect to clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, Wilcox employees and the community we serve.
Handles proprietary and confidential information with tact and discretion.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage several projects concurrently.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Moderate level of experience with Winest, Timberline, MS Office, MS Project and the Internet.
Five years experience as estimator and / or project manager for general contractor.
B.A. in Construction Management or related field preferred but not required.

Project Superintendent

Position Summary
In this position you are responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing all onsite activities in accordance with the requirements of the project, governing jurisdictions and Wilcox Construction's policies.

Key Responsibilities
Manages site activities, manpower, equipment, subcontractors and material to be efficient and cost effective.
Communicates with owner, design team and Wilcox project manager to effectively convey necessary information to and from the field.
Responsible for all of the following project related tasks:
  • Generates and maintains the detailed project construction schedule.
  • Generates and monitors site specific safety program in accordance with OSHA regulations and Wilcox company safety policy.
  • Maintains daily documentation logs of site activities, communications, production, deliveries, etc. on specified forms and reports.
  • Maintains weekly time cards for each Wilcox employee working on project.
  • Schedules all necessary inspections required by jurisdiction.
  • Examines work progress regularly for quality control and to verify conformance with specifications.
  • Estimates material and manpower requirements to complete tasks.
  • Performs cost comparisons and seeks best value for buy out items.
  • Ensures that material and equipment deliveries are checked in and verified for damage and completeness.
Responsible for the following supervisory tasks:
  • Communicates with field operations manager to fulfill manpower requirements as needed.
  • Supervises all Wilcox employees working on the assigned project.
  • Sourcing and hiring industry tradesmen as necessary.
  • Manage union dispatch and new hire paperwork.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of tools, materials and methods involved in commercial site-work and building construction.
Understands and is able to apply construction scheduling principles.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Basic knowledge of principles of the commercial construction business.
Basic computer skills and a moderate level of experience with MS Office and the Internet.
