About Us

For over 50 years, Wilcox Construction has delivered quality, innovation, and excellence, a level of performance unmatched in the industry.

Our Story

OUR HISTORY

Founded in 1963 by Al Wilcox, a World War II fighter pilot, Wilcox Construction began with a clear vision: to build projects that exceed client expectations. Al’s integrity, craftsmanship and hands on leadership quickly earned the company a trusted reputation throughout the region.

After focusing initially on public sector work, Wilcox expanded under Bob Wilcox and Jim Lessard, who took over leadership in 1984. Together, they shifted the company toward the private sector, emphasizing lasting relationships and exceptional service — a focus that turned most projects into repeat and negotiated work.

Today, Wilcox is led by Matt Lessard, Paul Carter and Trent Holobaugh, a new generation committed to the same principles that have guided the company for more than six decades: integrity, quality and partnership.

Though much has changed since 1963, the Wilcox philosophy remains constant — build with care, deliver with pride and stand behind every project.

EXPERIENCED LEADERS

With more than 60 years of experience, Wilcox Construction has built flagship projects for many of the nation’s leading brands across the Western United States. From shopping centers to restaurants, offices, industrial spaces and automotive showrooms. Our work reflects a tradition of teamwork, craftsmanship and performance.

Licensed in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Alaska and Hawaii we have a proven record of delivering quality projects — on time, on budget and built to last.

LOOKING FORWARD

In 2022, Wilcox Construction became an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company, transferring ownership to the employees, making them stakeholders in our success. This transition strengthens our culture of pride, accountability and shared purpose — the foundation of our continued growth.

As we look to the future, Al Wilcox’s founding vision continues to guide us. Our commitment to quality and relationships remains evident — more than 90% of our work comes from repeat clients and referrals.

At Wilcox Construction, we don’t just build structures — we build trust, relationships and a legacy that endures.
